I'm Off to NEW ZEALAND whoooohoooo!

Hey guys! My possy and I are headed to New Zealand to get a first look at the sheep that will be made into UGG boots! eeeep! (I am totally getting a hot pink pair, a blue pair, a sparkley pair, and a pair with a sheep face!) But it was SO sad, we flew in, and there were all these posters about a terrible earthquake that hit recently!

I did some digging.... and here's what happened. The UGGS can wait, this is exciting (and scary) stuff...

-The quake was a 6.3 magnitude, and the epicenter was in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was part of the after shock of the 2010 Canterbury 7.1 magnitude earthquake.
- The fault in the rock was previously unknown before the quake, it could have possibly been 2 or 3 simultaneous earthquakes
-It was mainly caused by a strike slip fault in the pacific plate within the crust (mostly horizontal movement, some vertical and reverse thrusting vertical movement)
-The faultline was previously created, but only recently (depths of 3-12 km)
-It is a subduction boundary, see picture! The Pacific Plate is being pushed under the Australian Plate!

More info to come! But y'all should go to Google Earth and check it out!

First of all I just need to let you know that I absolutely love you name girly!!
Second of all would you mind giving me some fashion tips straight from New Zealand?
Third of all I was wondering is like the Australian Plate subducting under the Pacific Plate or is it like convergent collision?
Fourth of all can you get me some hot pink sparkly UGGS please?
Fifth and finally have you met any awesome New Zealand people yet? If so you should definitely give me their numbers! Cause who knows, I might be heading over there soon!!
